At Yak Brewing Company, we are dedicated to crafting exceptional craft beers

Our mission is to create beers that spark meaningful conversations, fosters joy and laughter,
and cultivates appreciation for the people and experiences in our lives. We hold ourselves to the highest standards, not only in terms of taste and quality but also in how we craft our beers using innovation, sustainable practices and fostering community outreach.
Yak Brewing Company was founded on January 10th, 2016 by a group of friends who share a deep passion for brewing exceptional craft beers using responsibly-sourced ingredients. Dissatisfied with the limited choices available locally, they set out to create something truly special with Barahsinghe — embarking on a journey to brew a diverse range of beer styles in Nepal.
Since our inception, we have remained true to the approach developed by our founders in 2016. Every step of our brewing process involves meticulous effort, from selecting premium ingredients to incorporating advanced techniques, all while prioritising sustainability. As a result, we take pride in our wide selection of beers that have been enjoyed by many.
Over the years, we have crafted several noteworthy beers that have become favourites among beer enthusiasts. From the distinct smoothness of our Barahsinghe Pilsner Bier, crafted by our Brewmaster, Clemens Newman, to the fruity and aromatic flavours of our Barahsinghe Dunkelweizen, we continue to push boundaries in flavour profiles.
We remain committed to maintaining the highest standards in crafting beer. Our Barahsinghe Yaktoberfest — our very own version of the Marzen-style Oktoberfest beer — boasts toasted, malty notes and a smooth finish, while our Barahsinghe Pale Ale captures the essence of English-style pale ales.
In 2022, we introduced the Barahsinghe Hazy IPA, featuring a creamy mouthfeel and tropical hop flavours. These beers exemplify our dedication to quality, people, and process.
In October 2023, we unveiled our newest addition to our craft beer lineup, the Barahsinghe Belgian Style Witbier. A beer stye popular in Europe, our witbier offers a light and approachable brew with a complex flavour profile.
In a remarkably short time, Barahsinghe has become a beloved beer brand locally and globally. Our company remains deeply connected to Nepal’s rich craft heritage, upholding core values of innovation, sustainability, and community outreach.
With its increasing reach, Barahsinghe has set a benchmark in brewing practices, captivating beer enthusiasts in Nepal and globally. Our beers have gradually expanded their presence worldwide and are currently available in international markets such as Australia, Japan, Belgium, China, and India.
We are dedicated to building a sustainable brand that harmoniously coexists with our beautiful surroundings. Every bottle of Barahsinghe beer proudly showcases the Swamp Deer (Rucervus duvaucelii), commonly known as the Barasingha in South Asia. By adopting the name Barahsinghe, inspired by these highly social creatures, we aim to raise awareness of the importance of
preserving this endangered species.
The Barasingha is classified as ‘Endangered’ nationally and ‘Vulnerable’ globally on the IUCN Red List, highlighting the urgent need for conservation efforts to protect this invaluable wildlife.
Nepal is home to the largest concentration of Barasinghas — inhabiting the grasslands of Bardiya National Park in the Western Terais of Nepal and Shukhlaphanta National Park in South-Western Nepal. A smaller population of Barasinghas can be found in India too.
